What do I need to use Even?
An iPhone running iOS 18 or later. Even reads from Apple Health, so the more your phone or watch already records, the more it can read on day one. It is an iPhone app; there is no iPad or Android version.
Do I need an Apple Watch?
No. An Apple Watch adds heart rate variability, resting heart rate, breathing rate and wrist temperature, which make the body part of the score much richer, and it is what lets Even measure how a session settled you.
Without one, Even reads sleep, activity, daylight and your own check-ins, and it says which parts it cannot read yet rather than estimating them.
What is free and what is paid?
The instrument is free: the first run, the full ninety-day read of your own history, and your Even score each morning with its breakdown and one line.
A subscription unlocks the loop: the session library, before and after result capture, What works for you and its personalisation, Trends, and history kept across devices. Current prices are on the App Store listing, in your own currency, and the yearly plan starts with a free week for new subscribers. There is also a one-time lifetime purchase for anyone who would rather not think about it again.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Through Apple, not through us. On your iPhone open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Even. Cancelling there stops the renewal, and you keep everything until the end of the period you have already paid for.
Refunds are handled by Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com.
I paid before and reinstalled. How do I get it back?
Tap Restore purchases on the paywall, using the same Apple Account you bought with. If you also signed in to Even with Apple or Google, signing in again brings your synced history and everything the app had learned about you back with it.
Why does Even ask me to sign in?
Because it keeps learning you, and that learning should survive a new phone. Your daily readings sync to your account so the model of what helps you is not lost with the device.
Detailed Apple Health data never syncs. What leaves the phone is your first name, your sign-in email, derived readings such as daily scores and check-ins, and whether you have a subscription. The full list is in the privacy policy.
What does Even read from Apple Health?
Sleep, heart rate, heart rate variability, resting heart rate, walking heart rate, heart rate recovery, breathing rate, blood oxygen, wrist temperature, VO2 max, steps, active energy, exercise minutes, workouts, time in daylight, cycle tracking where it is recorded, and State of Mind.
You grant each of those in Apple's own dialog, and you can change your mind at any time: Health, then Sharing, then Apps, then Even. Even also writes back, adding its sessions to Health as mindful minutes and its check-ins as State of Mind, so its work shows up in your own record.
Can I use Even without giving it Health access?
You can see the whole first run. Anything you decline is stood in for by a clearly labelled demo person, so the app can be seen end to end before you decide.
After that Even shows your own record and nothing else. With no Health access the readings say what they still need instead of showing a number, which is deliberate: a score built partly from somebody else's data would not be a reading.
Why does a reading say it needs more days?
Because it does. Some measures need a minimum before they mean anything. Sleep regularity needs at least seven usable days and six adjacent pairs among them, and recovery speed needs several episodes before it can be estimated without letting selection bias in through the back door.
Even shows the countdown rather than hiding the card or filling it with a plausible-looking number.
The score looks wrong for how I feel
Say so, in the check-in. That is not a complaints box; it is an input. Even weighs the parts of the score toward whichever ones predict how you actually feel, so a week of telling it that it read you wrong is a week of it learning to read you right.
If you track your cycle, note that Even measures the second-half rise in resting heart rate and temperature from your own data and corrects for it, rather than reading it as strain.
How do I delete my account and everything in it?
In the app, open the You tab and choose Delete my account and data. That removes your account, everything synced under it, and everything held on the phone.
It does not touch anything in Apple Health. That data is yours and it stays where it is.
Is Even a medical device?
No. Even describes patterns in your own data. It does not diagnose, treat or screen for anything, and nothing in it is medical advice.
If something you see in it worries you, or if low mood or sleep problems persist, talk to a clinician. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line rather than an app.
Notifications, and being left alone
Even is built so it can never make you feel bad for not opening it. There are no streaks to break and no guilt notifications. At most it asks twice a day, in the morning and at wind-down, and you can turn that down to nothing in the You tab without losing the score.
Still stuck
Write to asterstudio9@gmail.com. If it is a bug, the You tab has How Even reads you, which shows what the app read and when, and a screenshot of that is usually the fastest way to a fix.
